Cedarfield United Church

Affirming Ministry

An explicit welcome to 2S and LGBTQIA+ people and all who seek community.

Everyone belongs

Cedarfield United Church is an Affirming Ministry. That means our welcome is intentional, public, and rooted in the belief that every person is made in the image of God and deserves to be treated with dignity, respect, and love.

We welcome people of every sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, age, race, ability, family structure, and economic circumstance. We want people to know they do not need to hide part of themselves in order to belong here.

People of different ages, identities, abilities, and backgrounds gathered together in an affirming church community.

Affirming is more than a statement on paper. It shapes how we worship, how we make decisions, how we offer pastoral care, and how we create space for people to participate fully in the life and leadership of the church.

We also understand that inclusion is ongoing work. We continue learning about barriers that keep people from feeling safe or seen, and we try to respond with humility, curiosity, and a willingness to change.

Our hope is to be a community where questions are welcome, differences are honoured, and relationships are built with honesty and compassion. We believe the church is called to reflect God's wide welcome in practical, visible ways.

If you are looking for a church home, exploring faith, or returning to church after difficult experiences, we invite you to connect with us. There is room for you here, and we would be honoured to walk alongside you.

A diverse church community sharing conversation and fellowship in a welcoming sanctuary.
